Edwin Forester, 86, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2011 in First Christian Church with Rev. Barry Loving, Dr. John Bridwell and Rev. Marvin James officiating. Private family interment will be in Llano Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Forester was born December 31, 1924 in Harlan, KY to William D. and Alice Forester. After graduation from high school, he volunteered to serve in the Army during World War II. He was assigned to the Signal Corps and served in the European Theatre. After discharge he moved to Dallas in 1947 and in 1952 accepted employment in Lubbock with Electric Equipment Manufacturing Representatives, C.B. Anderson Electric Company of Tulsa, OK. Moving to Amarillo in 1957 as branch manager and retiring as vice president in 1986.
Ed loved golf and had been a past member of Tascosa Country Club for many years. A long time member of First Christian, he served as Deacon, Usher, and Greeter.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Robert McNiel of Dallas.
Ed is survived by his wife, Martha Dell (Marty). They were married in 1967. He adored her as an angel sent from Heaven; also a niece, Lana Jane Donahoe and husband John of Richardson; nephew, Randy McNeil and wife Cindy of Plano and their daughter Alice; brother-in-law, Billy Shaffer and wife of Pittsburg, MO; and sister-in-law, Marian Love of Tyler, TX.
