Edwin Eugene “Gene” Brown, 45, of Amarillo, TX passed away July 2, 2020.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Gene was born in Hahira, GA on January 20, 1975, to Edwin Brown and Debra White. He grew up in Valdosta, GA.

Gene was a stranger to no one, and he was loved by everyone. His smile lit up the room.

Survivors include his father, Ed Brown, of Valdosta, GA; mother, Debra Davidson and husband Hunter, of Amarillo, TX; sister, Brandi Short and husband James, of Amarillo; brother, Ben Davidson, of Jacksonville, FL; nephews, J. and Dash Short, of Amarillo, TX; Bonus Mom, Pauline Cambern, of Amarillo, TX; aunt, Dawn Childre, of Pell City, AL; uncles, Greg, Dean, and Terry Brown, of Valdosta, GA; and several cousins including, Chris, Josh, Jordan, and Griffin.

The family asks for memorial donations to be made in Gene’s name to the Epilepsy Foundation, 8301 Professional Place West, Suite 230, Landover, MD 20785-2356.

  2. Debra I never met Gene but knowing you he was someone very special! My heart breaks for you and Hunter and your family. Praying for strength to get through these next few days and the future! Praying for a peace in your heart!

  4. A stranger to no one and loved by all. Those words say it all..this is Gene’s legacy. May we all strive to do the same. God Bless this family and lift them up in their grief and in their healing. May Gene’s stories continue to bring the family much laughter and love.
