Edward W. "Ed" Mills – November 21, 2012

Edward W. “Ed” Mills, 98, of Claude, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. in Amarillo with the Rev. Dick Gravley, pastor of First Baptist Church in Claude, officiating. Honor guard by Amarillo Police Department. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Claude Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Mr. Mills was born July 17, 1914, in Chula, Missouri to Clayton and Mattie Mills.  He married Gene Miller on March 16, 1962, in Clovis.  He volunteered for the Amarillo Police Dept. for many years as a handicap patrolman.  Mr. Mills owned and operated Millco Moving Center and T&T Equipment.  He was a self-made man.
He was preceded in death by four brothers; 3 sisters; and a son, Edward Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Gene Mills, of Claude; a daughter, Deloris Cariveu of Claude; a son, Dwight Marchbanks and wife Connie of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Salvation Army, 400 S. Harrison St., Amarillo, TX 79101-1442; or to Faith City Mission, 401 W. Second Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101-1511.
Viewing will be Sunday, Nov. 26, 2012, from Noon – 5:00 p.m. at the Boxwell Brothers Claude Chapel, 200 Parks.
