Eddie Sue Burton, 69, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 24, 2012.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Harold Harrison, pastor emeritus, First Baptist Church in Whiteface, and the Rev. Billy Nickell, pastor, First Assembly of God officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Sue was born Nov. 30, 1942, in Levelland to Edward William and LaRue Burton. She graduated from Whiteface ISD and attended South Plains College.
She worked at Whiteface Coop Gin. She was financial secretary at Whiteface Baptist Church. She retired from Whiteface Girlstown, USA after 34 years. She loved to sew, cook, read and cross-stitch.
Sue was a member of First Baptist Church in Whiteface and taught Sunday school.
She moved to Amarillo in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include three sisters, Carla Harris and husband Edwin of Amarillo, Mary Lou Lindly and husband Barney of Lubbock and Cynthia Curb and husband Don of Stephenville; and nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001; or a favorite charity.
