Dovie Ellen Dunham – December 9, 2014

Dovie Ellen Dunham, 86, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, in Lakeview Cemetery in Lakeview.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Dunham was born May 16, 1928, in Deport, to Edward Utah and Mary Ellen Perkins.  She was raised in the Lakeview area and attended school at Leslie. She moved to Fort Worth to pursue a business career and then moved to Oklahoma City where she retired from All American Earmold Laboratories.  She loved to read and was an accomplished musician.  Dovie was a quiet person and loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ellen and Edward Utah Perkins; brothers, Rowland Perkins, Bill Perkins, Carl Perkins, Howard Perkins and George Perkins; and a sister, Geraldine Pence.
Survivors include her sisters, Lena Hughs and husband Larry of Odessa, Oleta Hill and husband Robert of Amarillo, Beth Hancock and husband James of New Albany, MS; a brother, C.L. Perkins of Amarillo; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Viewing will be from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, and from 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at the funeral home.

  1. After visiting with Dovie every week for several years at Kirkland, there is a loss in my heart. I will truly miss her. She did beautiful needle work and loved to read. She will always be missed.
