Donna Clyde Arms – November 20, 2012

Donna Clyde Arms, 98, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Glen Walton, minister, officiating.  Burial will be at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Donna Clyde Arms was born in Clarendon on Dec. 21, 1913.  She was the daughter of James Clyde and Arles Blackwell Wright. She graduated Amarillo High School in 1931.  She had a long career in the oil and gas industry starting at Phillips Petroleum in 1934.  She worked with Sinclair Oil and Gas, eventually residing in Midland and continued with its successor company Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) from 1950 until her retirement in 1979.
In retirement she was a resident of Pampa and eventually returned to Amarillo.  She was a member of Bell Ave. Church of Christ.   She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Los Pampas Chapter) and the Desk and Derrick Club of Midland and Pampa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William Wayne Wright and James Clyde Wright; and two sisters, Mona Zell Wright Broaddus and Jean Carpenter.
Survivors include two nephews, Leland Carpenter of Amarillo and James Wayne “Jimi” Wright and wife Shelley of Fredericksburg; two nieces, Jan Carpenter of Dallas and Shirley Baily and husband Royce of Miami, TX.  She also leaves behind many generations of nieces and nephews through a great-great-great-great-niece born November 17.
Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at the funeral home.
