Don Edward Joslin, 74, of Olton, TX, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the 17th of August 2020.

Don was born on November 23, 1945, in New York City, NY to Charles and Genevieve Joslin.  He was very proud of his half American Indian and half Irish heritage.  He considered California his adopted home state after living there for many years.

He proudly joined the U.S. Marines in 1967.  He served two and a half tours of duty under black operations in Vietnam.  During his last tour, he was injured in combat and was sent back to Camp Pendleton to recover.  He earned the honor of three Purple Hearts.  He served at Camp Pendleton as a training officer for reconnaissance.  He honorably discharged in 1975 as a Lieutenant.

After the Marines, he went into construction in Bakersfield, CA, and St. Joseph, MO where he learned his craft.  He opened his own construction company in Kansas City, MO in 1986.  After a fall that cracked his back, he moved into the car sales business.  He became a nationally recognized sales manager.  Don received multiple honors for his sales skills over many years.  He retired from the auto industry in 2015.

Don was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, uncle, and friend.   Don married the love of his life, Suzy, in 1968 in St. Joseph, MO.  They had joy in each other through many years of adventures and through ups and downs.  They were married for 50 years before Suzy’s passing in 2019.  He missed her terribly for the last 19 months.  We find great joy in our hearts that they are together now.

Don was blessed with three children:  Chuck, Darren, and Monique.  He felt there was never enough time with his kids.  He was so very proud of them and who they have become.  He was also blessed with three grandchildren:  Zachary, Brittany, and Brent and two great-grandchildren: Kiera and Kaden.  Don and Suzy were also blessed to welcome their nieces, Twila Osborn and Terry Young, into their home.

Don was the best big brother to Mark.  Being 17 years older than Mark gave them a very unique relationship.  Don’s baby brother meant the world to him and Mark felt the same.  Don is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Don loved all things Marines, western shooting, guns, knives, and his beloved dogs, Spartacus, and Sampson.

Services will be in Missouri at a date to be determined.

The family suggests memorials be made to PTO of the United States Marine Corp.
