Don Allison – March 18, 2011

Don Allison, 66, died Friday, March 18, 2011 in Amarillo.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd with Pastor Larry Dunlap officiating.
Don Allison was born March 27, 1944, to Frank and Frances Allison in Littlefield.  He graduated from Littlefield High School and attended West Texas State University.
He married Kathie Sharp in 1979.
In his career, he held positions with Sears, Montgomery Ward and Texas Panhandle Builders Association before retiring from Bell Construction in 2007.
Don loved his family.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoying tournament fishing with friends.  He remembered every lure, rock, tree and lake where he caught his fish.
Survivors include his wife, Kathie; daughters Melissa (Jeff) Root, Erin (David) Cairns; grandchildren, Ashley (T.C.)  Floyd, Jaycee Anderson, J. T. and Devon Cairns, all of Amarillo; and Nicole Root of Oklahoma City; sister Jean Brown of Hot Springs Village, AR; and nephews Brad and Kendall (Darla) Brown of St. Louis, MO; brother-in-law, Jim White of Amarillo; sister-in-law, Barbara (Monte) Fielding of Amarillo; and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association; St. Jude Children’s Hospital; or to the Amarillo Chapter of the Red Cross.
