Derek Hatfield, 31, a well-loved and lifelong resident of Claude, TX gained his wings Saturday, February 13, 2021.
Viewing will be from Noon-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Claude High School, in Claude, TX with Dick Gravley, pastor of First Baptist Church of Claude officiating. Burial will follow at Claude Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Derek was born December 5, 1989, in Amarillo, TX to Gerald and Sally Hatfield. He was a 2008 graduate of Claude High School. He was a dedicated Mustang athlete and friend to all he met. His contagious smile and overall sunny disposition will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Kay Kerby.
Survivors include his father, Ray Hatfield; siblings, Sharla Bradshaw and husband Wes, Bo Hatfield and wife Tammy, Kerby Hatfield and wife Teena, Michael Eddleman and wife Shantel, Dustin Eddleman and wife Jessica, and China Eddleman; seven nieces; ten nephews; and one great-niece.
