Delbert Davis, 82, of Stratford, died Wednesday, September 9, 2020.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Stratford Cemetery with Edd Richesin officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Stratford, 311 N. Main.

Delbert was born on October 31, 1937 in Elk Falls, KS. to Bob & Vera Davis.  On September 14, 1957, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Hawk in Miami, OK.  He was a construction contractor.  Delbert was a hard worker and loved his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons Danny W. Davis in 2003, Robin L. Davis in 2020; and his sister, Phyllis Fouch.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Davis of Stratford; three sons, Randy Godsey and wife Gale of Amarillo, Ricky Davis and wife Sharon of Forney, TX., David Davis and wife Desiree of Stratford; two daughters, Debbie Richesin and husband Edd of Booker, Cheryl Prater and husband Roger of Dalhart; five brothers; five sisters; twenty-five grandchildren, fifty-four great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Boxwell Brothers in Stratford will be open from noon to 6:00 P.M. on Monday.

  1. Sorry Beverly for your loss. Delbert was one of the nicest guys around. Sorry for your kids and the loss of their dad. I will be thinking of you. Charlie and Janis

  2. Beverly and Family, Sorry to hear about Delbert. Kathy told me this evening. You may remember me as Mary Wilson. I was friends with Debbie in grade school. My mom Beulah took care of the kids for a time if Iremember correctly.
    Again I’m sorry for your loss.
