Keith Workman, 63, of Amarillo, TX died February 10, 2018.
Services were at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 15, 2018, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. Jim Smith officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, Texas.
Keith was born in Desha County, Arkansas on February 7, 1955, to Bobbye Sue Haynie and Bobbie Dean Workman. Keith spent the first part of his life in Arkansas and moved to Lubbock and then Olton. Keith wore #44 for the Olton Mustangs and made quite a name for himself on the field. He sang, acted, was a radio personality, salesman, and excelled in all that he attempted. He decided to show his wife the world one tow at a time from Amarillo to Abilene to Joplin, MO to Lake Charles, LA- he left his mark. He never met a stranger and was friends with nearly everyone he met. He coached baseball and served as a choir sponsor for the Love Singers at St. Stephen UMC. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta and St. Stephen UMC.
He married the love of his life, Jelaine Beall on January 14, 1977, and together they raised two wonderful children, Stephanie Workman Harris (Justin) and Mitchell Clay Workman (Ember). His GRANDchildren, Chloe’, Aiden, Hannah Harris, and Jaxon, Parker, and Whitley Workman will miss their Papa.
In recent years, Keith has had multiple health problems but faced them head-on with courage and faith unparalleled. He was a shining example of courage, inspiration, and witness for Christ. He loved his precious wife who was his rock and anchor.
Besides his wife, children, and grandchildren, Keith is survived by his brother, Kevin Workman and wife Kristi, their children Bobby Wayne and Kaci with their families; his mother in law who he cherished, Jo-Ann Beall of Mesa, AZ; his bother in law, Rex Beall and his family; his precious aunts, Billie Estes, Patti Harris, and Trish Scott; multiple cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Kidney Foundation of the Amarillo Botanical Gardens at 1400 Streit Dr, Amarillo, TX 79106.
The family received friends from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2018, at the funeral home.
