Christopher Merlin “Chris” McCorkle, 20, of Sunray, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Dumas Church of Christ, 14th St. in Dumas, with DeWayne Gion, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Brown Memorial Cemetery in Sunray. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox Ave.
Chris was born Feb. 1, 1993, in Abilene to Shawn and Dawn McCorkle. He married Kaylee Elizabeth Gordon on March 9, 2013, in Amarillo. Chris was a member of Civil Air Patrol and Dumas Church of Christ, 14th St. in Dumas.
Survivors include his wife, Kaylee Elizabeth McCorkle, of the home; his father and mother, Shawn and Dawn McCorkle of Sunray; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James “J.D.” and Starla Gordon of Sunray; his birth mother, Sandra Crosby of Nashville, TN; his grandparents, Don and Beth Rich of Abilene and Kenneth and Charlotte McCorkle of Alvarado; his great-grandfather, Noel Head of Mena, AR; his great-grandmother, Jane Bullion of Mineral Wells; and a host of cousins and in-laws.
