Charles Thomas Lacey – November 24, 2011

Charles Thomas Lacey, 76, of Amarillo, died at home Thursday morning, November 24, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, with longtime family friend Paul Smith officiating.
An Amarillo resident for the past 9 years, he resided in Portales and Clovis, New Mexico before relocating to the Dallas area in 1984. He was born February 18, 1935 in Borger, TX to Roy A. and Elsie McPherson Lacey. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1953 and married Sara Elizabeth Dawson on June 18, 1954 in Cactus, TX.  As a young man, Charles worked for North Plains Telephone in Dumas, and Moore County Grain. He owned Portal Farm Services in Portales, New Mexico before beginning work with Production Credit Association in Clovis and in Waxahachie, TX. He also worked several years as an insurance adjuster for agricultural disaster and property before retiring in 1997.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years from Amarillo, a daughter, Tamara Lacey of Amarillo; two sons, Steven (Laurie) Lacey of Albuquerque, New Mexico and David (Kris) Lacey of West Chester, Ohio; two grandchildren, Shauna (Mike) Biss of Albuquerque and Samantha Lacey of West Chester and two great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Jackson Biss of Albuquerque.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society of Amarillo, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX  79109.
