Carolyn Jean Cook – November 9, 2012

Carolyn Jean Cook, 67, of Vega, died Friday, November 9, 2012.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Vega United Methodist Church with Steve Campbell and David Bonnell officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Vega.
Mrs. Cook was born on July 14, 1945 in Madill, Oklahoma to Lillie and Buster Chaffin.  She graduated from Frank Phillips and West Texas University, where she earned her bachelors degree.   She had taught school for 35 years, the majority at Hereford and Boys Ranch.    She was a member of Vega United Methodist Church.
She married Lanny Cook on July 14, 1967.  They resided in Amarillo for a few years and moved back to Vega in 1975.   He preceded her in death on February 24, 2012.
Mrs. Cook was also preceded in death by her father, Buster; two sisters, Paula and Nancy; and a daughter, Amy.
She is survived by her mother, Lillie Chaffin, of Fritch, TX; two daughters, Sandra Denise Elliott and husband Nicholas of Portland, OR and Marcia Leigh Bane and husband Mark, of Amarillo; two brothers, Bob Chaffin and wife Anna of Fritch, TX and Bill Chaffin and wife Janet of Pearland, Texas;  three granddaughters, Iesha, Briana and Alicia; four grandsons, Anthony, Michael, Timothy and William; and one great-grandson, Austin.
