Carol Ann Johnson, 65, passed away peacefully Friday, March 15, 2019 at BSA Hospice in Amarillo, TX. with family by her side.

 

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Washington Avenue Christian Church with Randy Davis and David Malone officiating. 

 

Carol was born May 22, 1953, in Amarillo, TX. to Truman and Nadine Thurston.

 

Carol was baptized at the age of 8 years old at Washington Avenue Christian Church in Amarillo, TX. Two of Carol’s favorite places growing up were her grandpa’s pasture and Church Camp at El Porvenire, NM. Carol shared her love of music and animals with everyone around her. Carol attended Caprock High School in Amarillo, TX.

 

Carol married Andrew Murdoch and gave birth to Chris (1972) and Timothy Murdoch (1975).

 

Carol then married Jerry Johnson. They moved to Houston in 1977 where she gave birth to Benjamin (1977-1977) and Sarah Johnson (1980).

 

Carol Ann Johnson is survived by: Her parents, Truman Thurston, and Nadine McIntosh of Amarillo. Her Brother David Thurston & wife Linda, Sister Linda Sue & husband Charlie Brady. Her children Chris & Colette Murdoch of Tomball, Tim & Carrie Murdoch of Houston, and Sarah Johnson of Pittsburgh. Her grandchildren Maya Wilkerson, Anthony Murdoch, Ashley Snyder, Daniel Murdoch, Paige Murdoch, Cameron Murdoch, Aubrey Murdoch, Aaron Bachmann, and her two great grandchildren Josh & Jordyn. Her many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

 

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Andrew F. Murdoch, Jerry B. Johnson, her son Benjamin Grady Johnson, and her granddaughter Katlyn Snyder.

  1. Carol ran around with my sister Janis Keifer Moore, however, I also loved her dearly. She was a straight shooter and you always knew where you stood with her. She gave me a place to stay in Houston while I adjusted to my new job there!!! Always a giving soul and she will be missed……another star in the sky!!
