Brandon A. Puente, 25, of Amarillo, TX went home Saturday, February 1, 2020.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2020, at Pathpoint Fellowship Church, 6215 Canyon Dr., with Scott Johnson officiating.  Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Brandon was born July 20, 1994, in Hereford, TX to Anthony and Audrey Puente.  He was a graduate of Randall High School.  Brandon was a youth leader at Pathpoint Fellowship Church.

In 2013, Brandon’s ESPN personal story with the Longhorn Network won a Lone Star Texas Grammy.  In 2015, he won the award as the University of Texas Fan of the Year.  Brandon owned and operated BP Design and previously worked for Kids Footlocker.

Survivors include his parents, Anthony and Audrey Puente, of Amarillo; grandparents, Juan and Mary Puente, of Hereford, TX, and Chris and Elsa Barajas, of Amarillo; great-grandparents, Ascension Casarez, of Hereford, TX and Lucinda Sifuentez, of Asherton, TX; his aunts, uncles, and cousins, Rhaelynn and Eliseo, Aiden and Ariya Leon, all from Amarillo, Chris and Cassandra, Ava,  and Abram Barajas, all of Hereford, TX, and Tammie, Raymond, and Manuel Lopez, of Dallas, TX; and his girlfriend, Abi Knepp, of Amarillo, TX.

  1. So sorry to hear of Brandon’s passing. I had Brandon as a student at Randall – he always joked around with me and I enjoyed having him as a student. May he rest in peace!

  2. Oh what a sweet smile he had. Prayers for you Audrey and Anthony. It was a pleasure to care for him a couple years ago. So sorry.

    I was so sadden to hear about Brandon. He was a wonderful Longhorn fan. I am happy that my son, Ricky Williams #34 brought a bit of happiness to Brandon and your family. Brandon will be greatly missed, but I know he’s happy being with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I can only imagine the “Welcome Home” celebration that took place for Brandon. He impacted my life in so many ways and the friendship and bond he forged with Logan, Cody and Gracelyn are cherished by all four of us. We love you guys.
