Bonne Liston Craig – March 2, 2012

Bonne Liston Craig, 71, of Amarillo died on Friday, March 2, 2012.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1601 S. Georgia, conducted by the Right Rev. Dr. Scott Mayer and the Rev. Jo Roberts Mann.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Daughter of Bonne Whittenburg and Jack D Liston, Bonne was the granddaughter of Texas Panhandle pioneers Fannie Archer and George Allen Whittenburg.  She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1957.  She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.  She later graduated from West Texas State University after starting her family.
Bonne married Cliff Craig on June 20, 1959 in Amarillo.  They have been actively involved in many areas of the Amarillo community ever since.  Bonne has been a longtime member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church serving on the Interiors Committee, Lay Eucharistic Visitors, and the Altar Guild.  She belonged to the Junior League of Amarillo, P.E.O. – Chapter CV, 49er’s Dance Club, and the Amarillo Country Club.
Relationships were at the heart of Bonne’s life.  She loved her friends!  She was blessed by grade school friends and cousins who became lifelong best friends – even more like sisters.  She loved dinner with her Friday Night Group, great conversation, and sipping wine on a patio.
Over their 52 year marriage, Bonne and Cliff grew from two to a family of 18.  Bonne is survived by her husband, Cliff; daughter, Melissa, and her husband, Kim Howle, of Amarillo; son, Richard, and his wife, Christy of Ft. Worth; and daughter, Alison and her husband, Alan Ray Staples, of Richardson.  Her nine grandchildren: Nick and wife, Chrissy, Andrew, Jordan, Halee, Hayden, Michelle, Avery, Kali, and Craig were the joys of her life.  She adored her nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Marci Bankhead.  Bonne is also survived by two brothers: Jack D Liston, Jr. and wife Janie, and Roy Robert Liston and wife, Pat; two aunts, Helen Whittenburg McCartt and Tennessee Whittenburg McNaughton; and 32 first cousins.
