Billy Ray McCoy, 72, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at Highland Christian Church with Terry Griffith officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Military Rites are by DAV Chapter 26. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. McCoy was born April 19, 1939 to Bobbie and Imogene McCoy. He served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War and worked in the civil service at the Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi. Mr. McCoy moved to Amarillo in 1996 and worked as a HVAC technician.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harold and Wayne.
Survivors include his companion, Vicky Whitley of Amarillo; a son, Robert McCoy of Corpus Christi; a granddaughter, Rain McCoy of Corpus Christi; a sister, Juanita Carroll of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Delores (Dody) McCoy Archer; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at the funeral home.
