Bill Anderton, 78, of Hedley, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

He was born on May 13, 1942 in Borger, Texas. He was a ranch hand at heart and loved the outdoors and taking his pack mule and horse deep into the trails of the mountains where he took hundreds of pictures of nature.

Bill is survived by two sons, Shannon Anderton and wife Micah of Stratford, Texas, and Cody Anderton of Okemah, Oklahoma; a daughter, Toni Cantu and husband Raul of Spearman, Texas; three sisters, Sharon Bain and husband Don of Amarillo, Texas, Kay Freeman and husband Jerry of Alabama, and Tammy Founds of Midland, Texas; one brother, Dusty Anderton and wife Dorinda of San Angelo, Texas; 12 grandkids; and 7 great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Anderton Sr., and a grandson, Ricky Goodson.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 19, 2020, at the Hedley Methodist Church, 301 Main Street in Hedley, conducted by Stan Cosby. All Covid-19 protocols will be in effect, masks and social distancing is required.

His ashes will be scattered in the High Country at a later date.

  1. know Bill as Willy. He lived with us for a short time. Daddy & Mom loved him as one of their own son’s. Our family think
    of him as Brother. The stories I hear there was never a dull moment when JIm, Gary & Willie were together. Oh my, How did my parents handle those 3 in one tiny house?

  3. to all of willys’ family, kids, grandkids, great grandkids, HE LOVED YOU ALL! I know because he told me so. He bragged about each and everyone of you. I don’t have to tell you how special Bill was, It has been my blessing to call him FAMILY. A truly unique person, & always his own man, living by his cowboy code.     I am sorry for Bill’s passing. He was a good friend of mine and especially my dad, Roy Mitchell.
    Y’all are in my thoughts & prayers.
