Beverly “Jane” Elliott

Beverly “Jane” Elliott, 84, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and formerly Amarillo, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 14 in her home. A celebration of her life is 4:30PM, Friday, January 19th at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

An only child, Jane was born in Electra, Texas to David and Lassie Bonifield on April 2, 1939. TEXACO took her family on brief sojourns including California and Louisiana, though they ultimately settled in Wichita Falls, Texas. A multitude of relations lived in Oklahoma, with whom she spent many of her childhood school breaks.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in both mathematics and science at the University of New Mexico. Jane met her lifelong friend, Shirley Hollandsworth, as roommates at UNM.

She taught for several years with Amarillo ISD until her passion for real estate was discovered. Jane founded and brokered both Spikes Realty and Jane Elliott Realtors.

Jane was preceded in death by husband William “Bill” Elliott, and parents David and Lassie Bonifield.

Survivors include her son, Greg Bonifield (Karen); daughter, Sabrina Krieg (Timothy); grandchildren, Lauren Lindley (William), Kathryn Bonifield (Lance Mahon), Kacy Hoopes (Justin), Maddie Bagwell (AJ), Blair Scott (TJ); and great grandchildren, Walter, Theodore and James Lindley; Ro Bonifield-Mahon; Willow, Harlow and Bowen Krieg-Hoopes; and Fields Bagwell.

Jane had two consistent passions in her life:   Creating lasting relationships with people and doting upon her canine companions.  To the very end of her life, if you were with Jane in a place where she was known, everyone would light up upon her presence because she had a way of inspiring and uplifting those around her.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jane’s memory be made to The Retreat at Church Creek:
