Barbara Lynn Escamilla, 76, of Amarillo, TX passed away on May 18, 2020.

Services will be at 3:00 P.M., Friday, May 22, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Burial will be on Monday, June 1, 2020 in San Antonio, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Barbara was born in Memphis, TX on May 30, 1943, to Carrie and Curtis Kirkland. She will be buried in San Antonio, TX with her husband, Froilan Escamilla.

Survivors include her brother, Cleo Kirkland, of Panhandle, TX; sister, Joyce Water, of Amarillo, TX; children, Dorinda M. Escamilla-Padilla and husband Eraim Padilla; Froilan Escamilla, Jr. and wife Olga Bennett; and Karrie L. Johnson and husband Chad Johnson; grandchildren, Cheree’ D. Leita and husband Ray L. Leita, Joshua Pritchett and wife Kelly Pritchett, Haley G. Escamilla, Tasha B. Escamilla, Chole G. Johnson, and Sidney J. Johnson; great-grandchildren, Autumn B. Miller, Peyton R. Pritchett, Cheyenne G. Pritchett, Charlee’ Marie Leita, Jameson L. Leita, and Zayne J. Leita.

  1. Always remember my sweet first cousin, Barbara, my mamma’s niece!!!! Loved visiting with her!!!
    It’s odd that I was thinking about her last week!!! We get the Amarillo Paper a day late! I was reading Thursday’s paper yesterday on Friday!! There it was in the Services Scheduled!!! I was shocked!!! Our LORD had laid Barbara on my heart!!!! I loved her so!!!!
    Hadn’t seen Barbara since she moved to San Antonio. She will be missed!!!!
    May our HEAVENLY FATHER’S arms wrap around her family and give them comfort🙏🏻🙏🏻

  2. Barbara will be dearly missed and remembered for her graciousness, love, and care for her family. May she find comfort and peace in the embrace of angels and with her loving husband Froilan. We hope that the precious memories of Barbara bring all those that knew and loved her strength during this time of sorrow.

  3. Aunt Barbara will always be fondly remembered for all the good memories. She has left a legacy for her kindness and caring. Always had a smile. Our sadness is her glory as she is reunited with Froy, and the rest of our family. Rest In Peace!
