Artie Rivers St. Clair, 82, formerly of Dumas, died Thursday, March 14, 2019 in Stratford, TX.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on March 18, 2019 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox with Willard Simmons, minister, officiating.  Burial will be at the Dumas Cemetery.

Artie was born on August 25, 1936 in Merit, TX to Otis and Myrtle Rivers.  She attended school in Burns Flat, OK.   She moved to Dumas in 1956.  She had worked for many years at the Thriftway Grocery and retired from Walmart, where she was a customer service manager.  She loved sewing and quilting, baking, word puzzles, and all sorts of crafts and old movies.  Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Myrtle Rivers of Dill City, OK.; husband, James St. Clair of Dumas; and a sister, Marie D. Teel Burns Flat, OK.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Hoefling and husband Milt of Dumas; two granddaughters, Stacy Morris and husband Jason of College Station and Pamela Jones and husband Walon of Grady, NM; two great-granddaughters, Keleigh Jones and Kyndal Jones; and one very special nephew, Terry Teel and wife Jan of Burns Flat, Ok.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. and suggests memorials be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 50610, Amarillo, Texas  79159.

  1. Diane and family, Diane your mom was such a sweet lady, I remember lots of good times with ya’ll. Keep those good times in your memories of her.

  2. Oh how I will miss my Artie, she had some sense of humor and I looked forward to seeing her every night I worked at the nursing home. She was a joy. Diane and Milt please know that she was so loved and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace sweet little lady and I will see you on the other side.

  3. So sorry to hear of the passing of Artie. I enjoyed seeing and visiting with Artie each Monday as I fixed her hair. I haven’t got to go back out to the nursing home since I have been sick. Artie was a pretty lady. She will be missed. God Bless and take care. Continued thoughts and prayers for the family.
