Tony was born on May 10, 1974, to Jose Castaneda and Cecilia Blackburn. He attended high school in Amarillo and San Antonio College thereafter. He later returned to Amarillo where he started his insurance career with his closest friend and business partner, Roberto Saldana.
On November 28, 1998, Tony married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Leonora Garcia. In 2004, he entered into a partnership and opened his own insurance company. Amarillo’s Insurance became very successful in the surrounding area and continues to thrive.
Tony will be remembered as a great husband, father, friend, and soon-to-be grandpa. He was often on the phone checking on family and friends and was always willing to help anyone in need. His favorite past time was spending time with his family. He enjoyed swimming, camping, vacationing all over the United States, and trips to the mountains in Colorado. The weekends were spent having family get-togethers. He always brought his favorite foods to cook on the grill or the disco, such as shrimp, fish, ribeye steaks, and other foods. He was a diehard 49ers football fan.
His daughter, Beatrice, on March 28, 1995, two grandmothers, and one grandfather preceded him in death.
Tony is survived by his wife, Leonora Castaneda; his daughters, Breyana and Sariah, and soon to be granddaughter, Toni Kai; mother, Cecilia Blackburn; siblings, Nohemi, Juan, Maria, Bernardo and spouse Sonia Castaneda, Elizabeth Pacheco, and Jose Carrillo; many nieces and nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allen and Rita Garcia; sister-in-law, Francis Garcia; brother-in-law, Robert Jr. and spouse Missy Garcia; along with many loved ones.
Family and friends will dearly miss Tony.
