Ann Brown

Ann Brown, 89, of Amarillo, TX died on July 7, 2019.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Llano Cemetery. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Ann was born in Stratford, Texas on January 20, 1930, to Marvin “Buddy” and Viola Kline. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe Ben Brown, on June 10, 1948 in Amarillo, Texas.

Ann was a member of the Beta Sigma Psi sorority and the Amarillo Genealogical Society. She loved to square dance and was a member of Ye Ole Squares Dance Club. Ann helped coordinate the water aerobics class at Amarillo Town Club. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was in the Sunporch Sunday School Class. Ann loved to sew.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, M. L. Kline, Jr.; and her husband, Joe Ben Brown.

She is survived by her son, Gary Brown and wife Jennifer, of Amarillo; her grandchildren, Paige Fielding and husband Trace, of Dallas, Sawyer Kliesen, of Amarillo, and Bradley Brown, of Amarillo; her great-grandchildren, Cannon and Casler; sister, Shirley Gibbons, of Amarillo; nieces, Connie Kline Okill and husband John, of Amarillo, Desiree Groenland and husband Michael, of Palatine, IL, Kathy Kline Davis and husband Dan, of Dallas, Brenda Disharoon and husband Henry, of Kennesaw, GA, Nanette Lockwood, of Charlotte, NC, and Jeannine Gaudion-Racey, of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and nephew, Joe Lockwood and wife Laura, of Prarie Village, KS.

Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Autumn Leaves in Amarillo.

  1. I always enjoyed talking with Ann while my Father in law was at Autumn Leaves. She always seemed glad to see me and would wave at me when she saw me! I know she will be missed!
