Angelica Maria Sabala

Angelica Maria Sabala, 61, of Amarillo, TX died November 23, 2019.

Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M., Monday, November 25, 2019, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Angelica was born on October 21, 1958 in Sayula, Jalisco (Mexico) to Alicia and Manuel Renteria. She worked as a cosmetologist for 38 years. She and her family immigrated to Tulia, TX in 1971. She became a naturalized citizen on September 8, 1978. She graduated from Tulia high School in 1978 and Amarillo Beauty College in 1980.

Angelica married Michael Sabala in April of 1983.

Angelica enjoyed work and her clients, she considered them her friends. She was an animal lover. Angelica enjoyed time with her family. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her father, Manuel Renteria Montes.

She is survived by her mother, Alicia Arias Renteria, of Arlington, TX; husband, Michael Sabala, of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Krista and husband Saxon Tallman, of Amarillo, TX; son, Ryan Sabala, of Amarillo, TX; four sisters, Jacaranda Vigil, of McGregor, TX, Claudina Lira, of St. Louis, MO., Alicia and husband Dean Nesmith, of Dawson, TX, and Veronica and husband Rob Peloquin, of Las Vegas, NV.; and brother, Aldo Renteria, of Arlington, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Harrington Cancer Center, MD Anderson and ASPCA.

  1. I have known Angie my entire life. She took care of me when I was a little girl and has taken care of my children as well. I loved her very much. She had a giant heart and a fantastic sense of humor. I will miss her dearly.

  2. Loved Having Angie doing my pedicures, she was the best. She always shared her love of her dogs & always her adventures of trying to save lost or abandoned animals she found.

  3. There is a Beautiful Angel in heaven. She was always a giver and had a great love for others! I miss her so. I enjoyed visiting in her last year. She was happy and free. Rest in peace my good friend.
