Zelta Larue Wolfenbarger

Zelta Larue Wolfenbarger, 85, of Amarillo, TX died Monday, March 10, 2025.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2025, at the chapel of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Arrangements are also made by Boxwell Brothers. Her final resting place will be at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, TX.

Ms. Wolfenbarger was born on February 18, 1940, in Meadow, TX. Her early years were in Cockran county Tx. As a young woman she enjoyed basketball, gardening, and cooking. Married at 18 to Harold Wolfenbarger, they soon moved to Germany for two years with the US Army before returning to the states. She graduated college from Eastern New Mexico University with a degree in teaching along with her masters degree. She was a teacher in the gifted and talented programs (K-12) in Amarillo, Clovis, Brownsville, and Tulia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wavel C. and Lovella Millsap, siblings David Millsap, Keith Millsap, and Nadine.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheryl Redshaw and husband Chris, of Amarillo, TX; two sons, Paul Wolfenbarger and wife Brenda of Albuquerque, NM, and Allen Wolfenbarger and wife Anita; a brother, Kenneth Milsap, of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Cameron, Matt, Linnae, Caleigh, Neil, Amanda, Alex, and Annie; and nine great-grandchildren.
