Wilma Fae Smith, 72, of Vega, Texas, died August 17, 2018.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Amarillo with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Wilma was born February 25, 1946 at St. Anthony’s in Amarillo, Texas to Glen and Mary Spinhirne.  She owned and operated Charm Hair Designs for 4 years and then Texas Quick Stop for almost 25 years.  She taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Vega for 20 years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vega and Amarillo, where she attended the last 20 years.  She was married to Jay Smith, August 31, 1972.

She is survived by her husband Jay Smith of Vega, Texas; two sons, Shon Smith and wife Heather and Chase Smith; a daughter Callie Nelson and husband Jw, all of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Ed Spinhirne of Amarillo and Jerome Spinhirne of Vega, Texas; a sister, Janice Betzen and husband Melvin of Hereford, Texas; twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 6 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
