It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Hedrick, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born on November 18,1932 Wayne led a life full of love, dedication, and service until his peaceful passing on February 17,2025.
A Life Well-Lived
Wayne was known for his unwavering commitment to his family and community. He grew up in Amarillo, where he developed a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility from a young age. His early years were filled with fond memories of family gathering and cherished friendships.
Career and Accomplishments
Throughout his career, Wayne exemplified professionalism and integrity. He worked in the Automobile Business for over 40 years during which time he made significant contributions to his field. His colleagues admired him for his expertise, leadership, and willingness to mentor others. Wayne received numerous accolades for his work, but he remained humble and dedicated to serving others.
Family and Personal Life
Family was the cornerstone of Wayne’s life. He married the love of his life, Mary Alice Vaught, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. He was a devoted father of two daughters, Debby Hedrick-Hardy and Terri Stavenhagen, and took immense pride in their accomplishments. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Wayne had a passion for golf which he pursued with enthusiasm. He was obsessed with golf and worked daily to perfect it. His sense of humor, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
His passion for golf bled into his Grandkids as he enjoyed nothing more than playing with them and teaching not only the game, but what it stands for. He was always proud of their golf success.
A Legacy of Love and Service
Wayne was a pillar of his community. He volunteered his time and resources to numerous causes, always striving to make a positive impact. His dedication to his church and to getting the Word to other inspired many, and his contributions will be remembered for years to come.
His beliefs guided him throughout his life, providing strength and comfort in times of need.
Preceding him to Heaven is his Mom and Dad, his brother Glenn, his wife Mary Alice and his daughter Debby.
Final Farewell
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Wayne will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 1:30 PM, at The Church at Quail Creek, 801 Tascosa Rd. Family and friends are invited to share their memories and pay their respects. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heal the City in Wayne’s memory.
Wayne leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.
Wayne leaves behind his sister, Rita Baker, daughter, Terri Stavenhagen along with son in law Steve Stavenhagen. Wayne has 4 Grandchildren, April Snavely, Cory (Stephanie)Farley, Shayne (Tiffany) Stavenhagen, Scott (Shay) Stavenhagen. Along with being blessed with his Grandchildren and their spouses, he has 10 Great Grandchildren..Matthew, Seth,Jacob, Shelton, Stetson, Eli, Sloan, Slayton, Emma and Elena. Also gifted with one Great Great Grandchild, Shepherd. Wayne also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families.
