Willie Louetta Pitcock

Willie Pitcock, 85, of Amarillo died Saturday, June 11, 2022.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Bolton Street Baptist Church with her son, Rob Pitcock, and Danny Lucas, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Willie was born December 1, 1936, in Amarillo, Texas to John Fleetwood and Willie Pierson.

She married Robert Pitcock on September 28, 1956, in Tucumcari, NM and they were blessed with almost 59 years of marriage.

Willie worked various jobs in her younger years while she and Bob were building their family. In 1980, she went back to school to earn her LPN and later, her RN. Other than being a mom and wife, nursing was her true calling. She was the ultimate caregiver. Whether it was friends, family, or work, she was never happier than when she was caring for someone. She could provide tenderness or tough love, whatever the situation called for. And no matter what, you knew you were loved. Though she retired from bedside nursing in 1997, she never tired of caring for others. She also loved sewing, crocheting, and growing beautiful flowers in her garden. She was very active in her children and grandchildren’s lives and was loved dearly by many.

Willie was a member of Bolton Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2015.

Survivors include two daughters, Lana Riddle and husband Billy of Broken Arrow, OK, and Krista Brown and husband Billy of Stratford; a son, Rob Pitcock and wife Mary of Mount Pleasant; a brother, Harold Pierson of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Tifani, Valerie, Joshua, Trey, Jaci and Brendi; and three great grandchildren, Phillip, Hailey, and Evan.

The family suggests memorials be to Bolton Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 2555 S. Bolton St, Amarillo, TX 79103.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the funeral home.
