William "Bill" Franklin Kral, 82, of Amarillo, TX passed away March 3, 2025.
Family will receive friends from 2-3:00 PM on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Bill was born March 26, 1942 in Amarillo, TX to Edward and Edna Kral. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1960. He attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Tx. Bill graduated from the 13th Amarillo Police Academy in 1963. They were known as the “12 Plus 1” so as not be unlucky. In 1981, Bill was chosen as one of two lieutenants to attend and graduate from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. Bill was a distinguished and well-respected member of the Amarillo Police Department from 1963-1999. He volunteered for several organizations, including the Boy Scouts Of America. He was interested in teaching children and helping his co-workers.
Bill enjoyed fishing, reading, and telling the best dad jokes. He always felt laughter was the best way to cheer anyone up or make their day better. Bill’s favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved to spoil and love on.
He is preceded by his parents, Edward E. Kral and Edna Weatherly Kral.
Bill is survived by three children: David Kral, Mike Kral and his wife Anah, and Misti Berman and her husband BJ; seven grandchildren: Adam Kral, Haley Graham and her husband Andrew, Daniel Kral, Kendal Kral, Michael Jones, Cameron Kral, and Nathanael Knadle; great grandson Kellen Graham; and a special son, Robert Jones.
