William Donald (Bill) Kelly, age 90 passed away on
August
6, 2022 to the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ.
Bill was born on February 1, 1932 to Arlie & Georgia Kelly in Columbus, Indiana. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served his country during the Korean War. He was a radio mechanic and technical instructor at the Amarillo Air Force Base. During his service he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Bill met Wanda Phillips at the Star Theater here in Amarillo. He was the manager of the theater and Wanda sold popcorn and tickets. They were married on May 25, 1957. They were blessed to be married for 65 years. Bill was a faithful servant of God. He and Wanda were active members of Second Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Bill was a loving husband, father, brother & grandfather. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and a good lightning storm. He watched the Weather Channel constantly!
He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 sisters, and 2 brothers. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Paul Stich.
He is survived by his wife Wanda and four children: Wynnetta Hamilton and husband Ronnie, William D. Kelly Jr. and wife Yuenan, Wadona Stich, and Wyndella Carrier and husband Kevin.
He was the proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ussery Roan Texas State Veterans Home and BSA Hospice for their loving care of Bill.
Services are Friday, August 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Visitation is Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
