Wesley E. "Wes" Ninemire – January 5, 2013

Wesley E. “Wes” Ninemire, 86, died Saturday, January 5, 2013.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Paramount Baptist Church with Jim Fox officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Wes was born to George and Floretta Ninemire on February 4, 1926 in Kansas City, Kansas.  He graduated from Argentine High.  He attended Amarillo College and Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma.  He had been a resident of Amarillo for 51 years moving to Amarillo in 1961.
He served 2 years in the Army Air Corp, with 1 year in Germany during World War II.
Wes was a member of Paramount Baptist Church for 42 years, joining June 17th, 1970.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hope, Arkansas, a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason in El Paso and Khiva Shrine in Amarillo.  Wes was part owner and manager of KFDA radio in Amarillo for 5 years and owned and operated KCAN radio station of Canyon.  He was a flight instructor for 12 years at Amarillo Flying Service at Tradewind Airport.  He was a member of Quiet Birdman.  Wes owned and operated Courtesy Sign Co. for 33 years.
We was very proud of having helped his grandchildren to graduate from college.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Anderson and Edith Lynn Ninemire; four brothers, George, Ralph, Ray and Charles Ninemire; and a daughter, Karen Rogers.
Wes is survived by his wife, Charlene; two daughters, Linda and husband Alton Wells of Lubbock, Texas and Gail Collazo of Arlington, Texas; one son, Wesley Jr. and wife Gayle Ninemire of Lubbock; son-in-law, Phil Rogers of Amarillo, Texas; two stepdaughters, Alicia Downy and husband Randy and Crystal Edwards and husband Marc; two stepsons, Ron Lacy, Jr. and wife Suzanne and Tim Lacy; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friend from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions to Khiva Hospital Travel Fund, 305 SE 5th Street, Amarillo, Texas 79105.
