Walter Erin Webb, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 66. His presence brought joy, optimism and light to all those around him – marked by his smile that welcomed anyone.
Born in Bryan, Texas, to Edna Mae (Smith) and Bob Lindon Webb on December 5, 1957, Walter grew into a bright, ambitious and kind-hearted man with a strong faith. After earning his CPA, he built a successful career as an accountant at Arthur Young before becoming a founding Partner at Stewart, Martin, Dudley and Webb, where he worked passionately for over 35 years until his passing. He also enjoyed his many years serving on the CLI Capital board.
Beyond his professional achievements, Walter will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and community. A dedicated member of St. Stephen Methodist Church, he served faithfully on numerous committees over the decades. His generous spirit also led him to leadership roles with the Board of Wesley Community Center, Another Chance House, Children’s Miracle Network, Better Business Board and as United Way President as well as with several other local non-profit organizations. Walter's compassion touched countless lives.
Walter cherished his family above all else. He was the loving husband of Denise for 44 wonderful years. His pride and joy were their sons Casey (Trichelle) and Brian (Melissa), and being a devoted grandfather to Parker, Max, Phia, and Lina. Many joyful memories were made on family vacations, trips to the mountains and cheering on the children and grandchildren at their events. Walter's survived by his siblings Lindon (Linda), Jack (Rebecca), and Dick (Valorie) and a loving mother-in-law, Joan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Carl.
A celebration of Walter's life will be held on what would have been his 67th birthday - Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at St. Stephen Methodist Church in Amarillo, officiated by Travis Bennett and Dr. Jim Smith. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas 79109.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walter's favorite charities – Heal the City, Hope Choice and Team Gleason.
Though we grieve this immense loss, may we find comfort in the love and laughter we shared with Walter over the years and remember his encouragement in tough times – “Keep your eyes on Jesus”.
