Vickey Lynn (Jackson) Turner, 67, of Amarillo, TX, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Greg Corona of Hillside Christian Church officiating.
Vickey was born in Shattuck, OK on April 26, 1957, to Louis and Wanda Jackson. She graduated from Faith Baptist Christian Church in Odessa and moved several times with her family throughout Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
Vickey married Randy Parsley and lived in multiple places throughout the world while he was in the oil and gas business. Together they had an only child, Julie Danielle. They later divorced but remained friends throughout the rest of his life with both their priorities ultimately being focused on Julie. On April 20, 1996, Vickey married “the love of her life” Pearl David “P.T.” Turner. They lived in Midland, Texas and she treasured being his wife and a homemaker for 15 years prior to his passing.
Until her knees wouldn’t allow her to, she enjoyed skiing and had ample opportunity during the 10 plus years she lived in Colorado. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting family. Known for having a personality consistent with her red hair, she was fiercely independent. Vickey could usually be found sipping a hot cup of tea (but not too strong) and was wrapped up warmly in a soft blanket.
She was preceded in death by her husband, P.T. Turner; her parents, Louis and Wanda Jackson.
Survivors include her daughter, Julie Stewart and husband Josh; two precious grandchildren William (10) and Braelynn (9); sister, Ann Hoggatt; sister, Judy (Jack) Thompson; sister Kathy (Bob) Walters; brother Louis Jackson, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, and her beloved dogs Bri and Sophie.
Inurnment will be in Midland at a later date.
