Thomas K. “Tom” Hogan

Thomas K. “Tom” Hogan, 60 of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023, surrounded by his family. Memorial service is 3:00 pm Friday, June 23, 2023, at Westminster Presbyterian (2525 Wimberly Rd) officiated by pastor Eric Kirby. Graveside service will follow at Llano Cemetery. are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Tom was born in Burbank, Ca. on June 15, 1962, to Homer and Judith Hogan. Tom graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1979. He met the love of his life, Susan while working for her family. Their first date was out on the dirt track. Tom and Susan married in 1987. They had two children, Brittany and T.C.

Tom was very proud of his family. He also had a passion for racing. His love of racing became a family event. He enjoyed spending every weekend rooting for his children, watching them grow not only as drivers but also as adults with their families. He spent countless hours out at the shop with his family and friends. Tom also enjoyed fishing and going to the lake.

Tom never met a stranger. He was smart mouth and quick-witted, but always in good spirits. He would help anyone in need, whether it was with their forklift or racecar. Tom was a hard worker and made sure that his family was taken care of.

Tom was Preceded in death by his mother, Judith Shelley, his father, Homer Hogan, and his stepfather, Tillmon Barker

Those left to cherish are his wife, Susan Hogan, two children; Brittany Hogan Venable and her husband Jackson, and T.C. Hogan, one grandson, Braxton Venable, three sisters; Theresa Hogan Smith and husband Joe, DeAnna Almanza and husband Val, Cindy McKeever, one brother, Jeff Hogan and wife Brenda, in-laws Jean Ovenstone and Bill Storment, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and those that are considered family.
