Susan Lee Stewart

Susan Lee Stewart, 78, of Amarillo, TX passed away August 6, 2024.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 9, 2024 at First Baptist Church, 1208 S. Tyler. Interment will be private in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Susan was born April 1, 1946 in St. Louis, MO to Ray and Louise O’Brien. She moved from St. Louis to Albuquerque, NM after elementary school. Susan graduated from The University of New Mexico obtaining a degree in Education and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She married Norman Stewart on March 28, 1970. Susan taught special education and became a librarian before retiring from Sanborn Elementary School. She loved to travel, tend to her flower garden, and was a proud owner of Irish Setters. Susan was a member of First Baptist Church and previously a member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church in Albuquerque. 

Susan is survived by her husband Norman Stewart of Amarillo, TX; son, Eric Stewart of Alcord, NY; sister-in-law, Nancy Stoddard; 4 nieces; and 1 nephew.

The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church Music Fund, Stewart Scholarship Fund c/o Amarillo College Foundation, or your favorite charity.
