Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. John Bridwell, minister emeritus, First Christian Church and Alan Williamson, Park Central chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Sue was born Jan. 12, 1927, in Ponca City, OK to Thomas and Rebecca Courson. She married the love of her life, David Railsback on July 30, 1950. They enjoyed 62 ½ years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 20, 2013. They traveled extensively throughout their years together. She worked as the secretary for First Christian Church and later Texas Tech Medical Center.
She and David moved to Ruidoso, NM and enjoyed 16 years of retirement before moving back to Amarillo 6 years ago.
Survivors include two daughters, Terri Murman and husband Joe Don of Abilene and Pam Peters and husband Danny of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Chris Murman and wife Karyn of Plano, Cory Murman and wife Tamiko of Los Angeles, Josh Peters and wife Jennifer of Dallas, Becca Peters Barton and husband Nic of Amarillo and Beth Peters Ricci and husband Shane of Frisco; eight great-grandchildren, Owen Murman, Ella Murman, Caven Murman, Emory Murman, Brooks Barton, Camryn Barton, Wyatt Ricci and Brecken Ricci; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank the loving staff at the Cherry II, Ware Memorial Care Center for the excellent care that Sue received while she was there.
