Sixto “Mario” Cordova, Sr., 71, of Tucumcari, died Thursday, January 30, 2025. 

Memorial service will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Craig Albracht officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. 

Mario was born on August 9, 1953 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Luichi and Sixto Cordova. He attended Tucumcari High School. Mario was a veteran in the United States Army serving from 1972 – 1979.

He had worked as a bricklayer. Mario loved listening to music. He was laidback, easygoing, and would do anything for anyone. 

Mario was preceded in death by his mom, Luichi Cordova; his dad, Sixto Juan Cordova; three sisters, Veronica Vigil, Rachel Morales, and Yolanda Cordova; and two brothers, Kenneth Cordova and Rick Cordova. 

He is survived by three sons, Mario Cordova, Jr., Juan Cordova, and Carlos Cordova, all of Amarillo; one daughter, Beatrice Creamer and husband Ken, of Windsor, Colorado; four sisters, Pam Cordova, Cecile Arenas, Janie Cordova, and June Cordova, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Joe Cordova of Pennsylvania and Willie Cordova of Amarillo; fourteen grandchildren, Xzavier, Raven, Meranda, Madaysha, Kellie, Jackson, Jillian, Alyssa, Juan Jr., Matthew, Anthony, Chloe, Kamry, and Blake; and thirteen great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Faith City Mission, 600 N. Tyler, Amarillo, TX 79107.
