Sherril Lynn Ammerman, 81, of Amarillo died October 3, 2018.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2018, at The Church at Quail Creek with Kyle Clayton officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Sherril was born February 9, 1937, in Buffalo, Oklahoma to George Milton “Hoot” and Fairus Hope Baird.  She graduated from Weatherford High School.  She married Jerry Ammerman on July 26, 1954, in Woodward, Oklahoma.

Sherril owned and operated Sherril’s Rags to Riches Clothing Store.  She loved to play Bridge every Wednesday. She loved painting and being at their cabin in the mountains. She was a member of The Church at Quail Creek.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Ammerman, of Amarillo; daughter, Deborah Benge and husband Mike, of Amarillo; a son, Jerry Ammerman Jr. and wife Kayla, of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Tim Benge and wife Kacy, Jeremy Benge and wife Carmen, Elizabeth Ammerman, Lani Williams and husband Michael, and Haley Jones and husband Evan; and five great-grandchildren, Kemper, Berklie, Brynli, Cayli, and Jude.

The family suggests memorials to Amarillo Senior Citizen’s Center, 1217 S. Tyler St, Amarillo, TX 79101.

    I was so sad this morning when I heard about Sherril’s death. Sherril was a great friend to me at a time in my life when I desperately needed such a friend. My love goes out to Jerry, Buddy and Debby this morning. I pray that the Lord will provide peace and comfort in the difficult days to come.

    To Jerry, Jerry jr. and Debbie I Just received word this morning that Sherril had passed. Earl and I are in shock and in deep sorrow. Jerry, Debbie, and Buddy I cannot tell you ever what your wife and mother meant to me. She was my dear. dear friend. She was one of my rocks. When I was low and talked to her. I always felt better. She reminded me that God was always with me. Just trust in him Beverly She would say.

    Jerry, Buddy, Debbie and family. I just received word this morning from a friend in Eagle Nest that Sherril had passed. I can’t believe it. My heart is broken. She was my dear, dear friend. Your loss is hard to bear I know. Earl and I send you all the love we can in this reply and it is not enough. I wish I could be there now for you. You are all in my prayers.

    Jerry, Deborah, Jerry Jr. and families I just received word today that my dear dear friend Sherril had passed to heaven. My husband and I are thinking of you now and praying for you all. I know that God put Sherril in my life. Sherril I pray that you knew just how much you meant to me. I shall always love you Earl and I will miss you. God bless and keep all of her family

    I just received word of my dear friends passing this morning. I am heartbroken. Sherril cannot be replaced. I pray that our Heavenly Father will be with the family in their hearts and minds during this sad time and bless them.
