All of us Bushland kids are sending prayers up for you all. We loved Sherri, and so many of us had reconnected through Facebook and enjoyed talking with her frequently. She was a beautiful, strong woman who faced life knowing God was holding her at every moment. I pray for comfort for Mr. and Mrs. Blackmon and Ginger as well as Shaun and their kids and grandchildren. The world is less without Sherri in it.

I heard a podcast today of Pastor Jack Hibbs, Calvary Chapel Chino Hills and in his sermon he made this statement: as believers in Jesus, one day our spirit will outgrow our body and we will be in His presence. What a beautiful thought! Praying God’s comfort during this time to all of Sherri’s family and friends.

I’m glad I got to spend time with Sherri as an adult. You and Angela let me tag along to your lunches and dinners when she came to visit. I would leave these outings thinking “I don’t remember Sherri being that dang funny!” It was abundantly clear her life revolved around her kids and grandkids. Much love to Joyce, Richard, and Ginger. Praying for some peace for everyone.

I am so…..very sorry. Sherri and I had reconnected on Facebook. She had been through so…..much. We went to Bushland together, rode the bus together, and went to church together for many years.. We had a lot of good times. Her pain is,gone and she is,walking the streets of gold with her Savior. Love and Hugs Joyce, “Meany Richard” Lol!!!! , Ginger and family. Praying for God’s peace and comfort for you all in the coming days.

I know this is late… Too late, but I want you to know I love you… So much more than you think. I can’t even remember the last time I said that to you. I wish I had said it more often, I wish I had messaged you every once in a while to see how you were doing and tell you how much I loved you. I remember Christmas’s and summers that I spent with you. I never got to know you aunt Sherri… I wish I had just sat down with you and listened to all of your stories and watched a movie with you or something… I regret not doing so much and it’s so hard to believe that I’m too late… I’m so sorry I waited this long, I’m sorry I never spent time with you. I live you so much, I will always remember the few moments I’ve spent with you… I can’t help but ask myself “what could we have done?”. I hope you’re happy, aunt Sherri. I hope you’ve reunited with Uncle James. I love you..

This still doesn’t feel real! I wish I was home right now! Sherri and her sister Ginger (my cousins), were my first employers. I babysat THEIR kidos! She was always there. For the good, for the bad. When my son passed in 2004, she was there. Not knowing that exactly a month after she would lose her husband and almost her daughter. Sherri’ s strength was admirable at that time! She DID IT! When Beau was having machines breathe for him, she was there! It never mattered what was going on, Sherri may have sat quietly, but she was there. And we all knew it. I’m comforted in knowing she no longer hurts. And as we deal with the loss of one amazing woman, mother, grandmother…. It’s ok… she’s is here.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Growing up just up the hill from you, I remember coming to your house to play with Ginger and you would pick on us like crazy. Being the older sister and always watching over us. Sherri, you will be deeply missed, loved and cherished for years to come. I pray for peace, comfort and understanding for you all. May you hold memories close to your hearts and always know, you Angel will be with you.

  • Jerrianne Best Posted June 19, 2018 2:04 pm

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

  • Robbyn Daniels Runquist Posted June 19, 2018 10:44 pm

Joyce , Richard and Ginger, I feel very fortunate that I got to spend time with Sherri in the Bykota youth group as well as the many Sunday afternoons after church at your house after picking up some Long John Silvers for lunch. She has gone too soon from this earth, but will be waiting to greet each of us as we are called home. I am so sorry for your loss and will say prayers for comfort to help in this time of loss.
