Shelia Ann Cates

Shelia Ann Cates, 80, of Amarillo, TX passed away February 1, 2025.

Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Shelia was born June 16, 1944 in Stratford, TX to Robert Shuler Donelson and Gertrude Louise Reed Donelson. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1962 then attended Texas Women’s University, graduating in 1966 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. Shelia was married to Jack Edward Goddard for 27 years. After Jack’s passing, friend Laura Reynosa took over care for Shelia moving her to Brookdale Medi Park Assisted Living then later to Brookdale Sleepy Hollow Memory Care. 

Shelia was an amazing seamstress making almost all of her own clothing. She worked at various law firms then the Amarillo VA Hospital retiring in 2014.
