Sharon Eva Cook Baynham – October 30, 2012


Sharon Eva Cook Baynham, 74,  formerly of Vega, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, in Hereford.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Vega United Methodist Church with David Bonnell and Kirk Luecke officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Vega.
Sharon was born September 23, 1938, in Newton, Kansas. Sharon lived most of her life in Vega. She moved to Dallas where she briefly attended SMU.  While in college, she met Tom Baynham, who she married in 1962.  Tom and Sharon moved back to Vega shortly afterward so Tom could work in the cattle business.
Through the years, Sharon worked as a housewife, a co-owner of a lawn care business, and as a nursery worker for Johnson’s Greenhouse.  She served as a Vega City Commissioner for several years during the 1980’s.  She lived the last four years of her life in Hereford Nursing and Rehabilitation.  We would like to thank the entire staff for the excellent care Mother received during that time.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Helen Cook; a sister Kathleen Tolbert; a brother Lanny Cook; and a niece Amy Cook.
She is survived by daughters Catherine Luecke (Kirk), Nancy Lane (Matt), and Donna Clark (Ron); seven grandchildren, Chant Clark, Patrick, Ben, Evan, and Michael Luecke, and Lexi, Landi, and McCrae Lane; brother and sisters, Melvin Cook (Gloria), Norma Johnson (Bill), and Marion Horsley (Walt); brother-in-law Sid Tolbert; and sister-in-law Carolyn Cook.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family
Viewing will be from Noon – 6:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at the funeral home in Vega.
The family suggests memorials in her name be sent to Hereford Nursing and Rehabilitation 213 Kingwood Street, Hereford, Texas 79045.
