Ruth Lois Finke Heckler Boone

Ruth Lois Finke Heckler Boone went to be with her Lord on July 16, 2024. Ruth was 96.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 22, 2024 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dumas, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Ruth was born on August 19th, 1927, to William Henry Finke and Gertrude Ellen Helen Thiele Finke in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Greenville College in Greenville Illinois in 1949. Upon graduation she went to teach 1st grade in Bridgeport, Illinois, where she met her husband William Ralph Heckler. 

Ruth was married to Ralph for 52 years. Ruth followed her husband from oil field to oil field, they spent 2 years in Pakistan. William Ralph Heckler passed away in March of 2003.

Upon returning to the states Ruth taught 1st grade all together for 24 years. She retired from teaching in 1988.

Ruth married Eldon Leon Boone on December 20, 2003. After Leon passed away in 2009 Ruth was active with sewing jumpers and pants for children over seas for her church mission. She also was busy making masks and clothes protectors for senior adults and special need adults. She enjoyed making quilts of 3rd graders Thank You squares in November to honor veterans for Veteran’s Day. Ruth loved baking for other people. Every November around Thanksgiving time she would bake over a 100 Danish Almond Cakes to be passed out to friends, home bound adults, widowers, and widows. She always put a note on them letting people know they were special to her, Thanksgiving was the perfect time to let them know how much of a blessing they were to her. Ruth always had something special baked in case someone came to do repairs. 

Ruth had 5 children: Brent Boone and wife Patti, Richard Heckler and wife Diana, Donnie Heckler and wife Linda, Patricia Heckler Urban Beach and husband Gary, and Connie Heckler Greer. Ruth had 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren
