Rose Ann Cotter

Rose Ann Cotter, 71, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on December 6, 2024.

Viewing will be available from 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Monday, December 9, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Amarillo, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Gruver Cemetery in Gruver, Texas. Rosary will be said at 9:30 A.M., Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church is Nazareth, Texas with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10:00 A.M. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Rose was born in Tulia, Texas on November 12, 1953, to Thelma Claire (Birkenfeld) and James “Thomas” Wethington. She graduated from Nazareth High School. Rose married Paul E. Cotter in Nazareth, Texas on June 7, 1980. 

Rose worked at Amarillo Montessori Academy and Central Church of Christ where she helped care for babies. She took care of newborn babies until they aged into a new class. 

Rose loved her grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them. 

Rose loved movies, especially Hallmarks and Rom Coms. She would only watch movies that had a happy ending. Rose was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Amarillo, Texas. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Thomas Wethington; and her husband, Paul E. Cotter. 

She is survived by her son, Joshua Thomas Cotter; daughter, Angela Lynn Rodarte and husband Rolando; grandsons, Kellen Paul Cotter, and Aksel Rodarte; siblings, Tommy Wethington and wife Teresa, Herbie Wethington and wife Joyce, Bernie Wethington and wife Lou, Melvin Wethington and wife Joy, Beth Schulte and husband Ralph, Janeta Jones, Delly Hittson and husband Mark, and Geri Nolan and husband Michael; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
