Ronald James Bowen – July 29, 2012


Ronald James Bowen, 51, of Mansfield died Sunday, July 29, 2012.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with Dr. Gil Lain, Pastor, Paramount Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Ronald was born May 8, 1961, in Amarillo to James Bowen and Mary Jo Hopson. He graduated in 1979, from Tascosa High School in Amarillo.  He held a BS in chemistry and a BS in business from Texas Tech University and was a lifelong member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
Ron was employed as the Quality Assurance Analyst with Freedman Meats in Dallas.
Ron is remembered as a beloved son, brother and uncle. His love for his family was always evident. He enjoyed golfing, ballroom dancing and had the heart of the philanthropist.
Ron was loved and respected by all who knew him, and though he will be missed by loved ones, he is now home.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Lynn Bowen Gunther.
Survivors include his parents, James and Sue Bowen of Amarillo and Mary Jo and Glenn Hopson of Moriarty, N. M.; a sister, Denise and Ken Cable of Plano; a nephew, Blake Cable of Plano; a niece, Randa Kirchner and husband Dalen; a great-niece, Autumn Kirchner; a great-nephew, Will Kirchner of Fredericksburg; an aunt, Margaret Mathies; and cousins, Quin Mathies and Cara Coless. Other surviving family includes Kelly Cavin, Michael Cavin, Edana Harvey, Joie and Rocky King and Donald and Pat Hopson.
