Roger Richard Robertson

Roger Richard Robertson, 85, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4pm on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Chapel of First Baptist Church, located at 1208S Tyler St, Amarillo, TX 79101.

Roger was born in Tehachapi, CA on January 22, 1939. He served in the United States Air Force. He earned degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering. He moved to Amarillo and married Mary Jean Townsend in 2005.

Roger later worked and retired from Pantex. In retirement he was able to devote more time to his passion for flying airplanes. He also enjoyed exercising at the First Baptist Church Fitness Center, participating in Mary Jean's yoga class and the Senior Men's Fitness Class.

Roger is survived by his wife, Mary Jean Robertson, of Amarillo, TX; a son, Randy Dunn and Sue, of Hartford, CT; a brother, Fred Robertson and wife Gail; a sister, Lori Jensen and husband Phil of Roseburg Oregon; three step-sons, Fred Townsend and wife Terri, Bryan Townsend, and Scott Townsend and wife Lori, and five grandchildren, Cody Dunn and wife Jennifer, Rita Buchner and husband Seth, Jordan Townsend and wife Megan, Megan Townsend, and Tyler Townsend.
