Fulton Obit PhotoRobert Jon “Bob” Fulton, 90, of Wildorado died Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Bob was born Aug. 27, 1923, near Amarillo to Lawrence J. and Julia Fulton. He married Juanita LeGrand on Aug. 18, 1947.

Bob was a farmer and rancher all his life. He enjoyed cowboy poetry, and jewelry and wine making.  He was a past president of Wildorado School Board and Wildorado Senior Citizens and was very active in other community affairs. He was a member of Vega Masonic Lodge, Khiva Temple, and Vega Methodist Church.

He was a wonderful “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, on Jan. 21, 2011; a sister, Beechie Mason; and a brother, Lawrence J. Fulton, Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Becky Barclay and husband Don of Vega and Suzanne Van Pelt and husband Jim of Amarillo; two sons, Harry Fulton of Amarillo and Larry Fulton and wife Juliann of Bushland; two sisters, Margaret Norman of Buchanan Dam and Joanne Werner and husband Wes of Garden City, Kan.; three grandchildren, Donna Marshall and husband Matt, Bobby Van Pelt and fiancée Rachel Oldham and Paige Van Pelt; and a great-grandchild, Miles Marshall.

The family suggests memorials be to Vega Masonic Lodge #899, P.O. Box 490, Vega, TX 79092; or Wildorado Community Center, P.O. Box 62, Wildorado, TX 79098.

    Bob was a good neighbor & friend to our family. I have many fond memories of him. May he rest in peace.

    So Sorry to hear about your Dad and that we are out of town and will not be able to attend the service. Know that we are praying for your families. Your mom and dad were always there and a delight to visit with.
