Robert Henry Pankratz

Robert Henry Pankratz, 76, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024.

The family will be accepting visitors from 5-6:30 Monday, January 22, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers and services will be held at 3 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Robert was born in Amarillo to Carl and Elizabeth Pankratz. He graduated from Tascosa High School, and West Texas A&M University with a degree in chemistry.

Robert served in the army for 7 years and is a Vietnam War Veteran.

Robert married Patricia L. Folsom on May 22, 1974.

He retired from Pantex in 2017 after 28 years.

He got a second chance at love when he met Helen Stehr. They were married in August 2017. He had a love for traveling, cruising, golf, and water activities.

Robert also was a loving father, grandfather, volunteer, Boy Scout leader, friend, and faithful husband. He gave lovingly to her friends and family throughout his life, for which he will be remembered.

Survivors include his wife of 6 years, Helen Stehr; son, James Pankratz of Amarillo; daughter, Amanda Johnson of Amarillo; 3 stepsons, Danny Thrasher and wife of Pensacola, FL, Kevin Bussey of Amarillo, and Terry Bussey and wife of Wichita Falls, TX; 3 sisters, Susie White of Bayport, NY, Sandy Jones of Houston, TX, and Candy Eubank of Houston, TX; 5 wonderful grandchildren, 7 wonderful step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (d. 2014); son, Robert Pankratz; parents, Carl and Elizabeth Pankratz; brother, Bud Pankratz.
