Robert Dean Powell, 75, of Amarillo, TX passed away January 24, 2024.

Dean was born August 18, 1948 in Wellington, TX to Neil and Louise Powell. He graduated from Tulia High School and married July 18, 1972 in Childress, TX. Dean had worked for the Department of Public Safety from 1970-2011. He loved working in the shop, teaching his grandkids all the tricks of the trades. He also enjoyed woodworking, leather work, building and flying remote-controlled airplanes, fishing and camping. Dean was a longtime member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ.
Dean is survived by his wife, Norma Powell of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Shanda Metzinger and husband Steven of Golden, CO and Shara Fletcher and husband Beau of Amarillo, TX; son, Weston Powell of Dallas, TX; sisters, Carol McRoberts of Canyon, TX, and Debbie Ervin and husband Fred of Amarillo, TX; brothers, Randy Powell and wife Alana of Floydada, TX, and Gary Powell and wife Lorna of Vernon, TX; and 11 grandchildren, Kennedy, Isabella, Miah, Parker, Dane, Ian, Marty, Mason, Makenna, Morgan, and Gavin.
