Robert “Calvin” Peters

Robert Calvin Peters, 79, of Dalhart, TX passed away February 15,2024.

The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 PM, Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Boxwell Brothers in Vega, 110 S. Main, Vega, TX. Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 19, 2024 at Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Calvin was born April 12, 1944 in Hereford, TX to Calvin and Ruthalee Peters. He graduated from high school in Adrian, TX. Calvin married Linda Maupin on July 12, 1964 at his parents home in Deaf Smith County. He cowboyed his entire life at the Bridwell Ranch, the F.O. Maston Ranch, and as manager at the Quien Sabe Ranch for 25 years. Calvin enjoyed working with his horses, roping, playing his guitar, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his son, Billy Peters; and sister, Ina Sue Ferguson.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Peters of Dalhart, TX; son, Troy Rodgers and wife Tammie of Dumas, TX; sisters, Phyllis Morrison, Diann Dunn, and Carolyn Moore; brothers, Sandy Ferguson, Rodney Ferguson, Louis Peters, and Chan Peters; and grandchildren, Zack Peters, Zane Peters, Klint Rodgers, Klay Rodgers, Synda Rodgers, and Kari Dawn Putman; and 8 great-grandchildren.
